The £1.7m refurbishment of the University of Exeter’s Cross Keys Café and bar on the St Luke’s Campus has seen the transformation of the existing space into an inviting and vibrant multipurpose space. The project enhances the student and staff experience as well as providing a great social space at the heart of the campus. It also meets the needs of the University’s growing and diverse community.
Faithful+Gould provided building surveying, project management and design services for the refurbishment which saw the existing ground floor space completely reconfigured and upgraded to include flexible study and social spaces and a new catering outlet and coffee shop. A first-floor extension has enabled an increase in capacity from 150 to 250 users.
The project has met its aim which was to create a flexible space where staff and students can meet and study, as well as providing a space which allows for events, conferences, student society events and open days.
