Construction of 2010 Asian Beach Games Facilities to be Project Managed by Faithful+Gould

We have been appointed to provide project management services for the construction of facilities for the 2nd Asian Beach Games, which are due to be held in Oman in 2010.

The Asian Beach Games are a multi-sport event to be held every two years among athletes representing countries from Asia. The games are regulated by the Olympic Council of Asia. The first games will be held in 2008 in Bali, Indonesia.

The 2nd Asian Beach Games will be held in Oman under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Sports Affairs.

The location for the 2nd Asian Beach Games is a 100 hectare coastal site which is 1.5 hrs drive from Muscat.

The development for the games will consist of:

  • Two 250 bed hotels
  • A sports centre
  • A marina
  • An athletes’ village
  • A public grandstand
  • Infrastructure
  • Roads and car parking, and
  • Associated supporting facilities.
