The presentation Dave Stark, program director, is moderating will explore 3D laser scanning and modelling in facility design and will review the specific use of laser scanning in the design of grain elevators and processing plants. The panel will also include a live demonstration of 3D laser scanning.

"I am excited to further our involvement with GEAPS," said Dave. "I have attended the conference for many years, and it will be great to hear more from people who are at the forefront of innovating industry technologies such as laser scanning and modelling." Dave Stark is a program director based in Faithful+Gould’s Minneapolis, Minnesota office. David supports our growing agribusiness practice throughout the Americas. Faithful+Gould is currently supporting agribusiness projects in Canada; the Pacific Northwest; Midwest; Gulf coast; and Brazil.
The presentation will be given by Larry Kleinkemper of Lanmar Service, which is based in Austin, Texas. Larry is a Chief Technical Officer and has extensive experience with laser scanning. The seminar, entitled: "3D Laser Scanning and Modelling in Facility Design," will be held on Tuesday, March 1 from 2–3pm on the last day of the GEAPS conference.
Faithful+Gould has helped clients asses the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D modelling for the construction of facilities. Effective use of these tools can bring significant benefits to the client and project team resulting from efficiency savings through, for example, better coordination, deeper stakeholder engagement and richer analysis of design information. Better software tools in isolation do not deliver the benefits of BIM, rather they are achieved when BIM software is used as part of a collaborative project process.

For Faithful+Gould, the Exchange serves mainly as an opportunity to network with our clients, meet new potential clients, and engage in discussions with suppliers and other service providers in an effort to increase our visibility in the agribusiness and food and beverage industry and better position ourselves for future work.
"It is always good to run into old acquaintances," added Dave. "Some attendees are from companies we partner with on our projects. Others may sit on opposite sides of the table from us. But through events like the Exchange, we all build relationships and the ability to work together to fulfil our clients’ needs.”
Dave was invited to lead the seminar due to his long term attendance at GEAPS, where has many contacts, one of whom thought he would be a great fit to introduce the presentation and moderate the question and answer session.
The GEAPS conference will be held in Austin, Texas and run from Saturday, February 27, 2016 through Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
The largest grain industry trade show in the U.S., GEAPS refers to the Grain Elevator and Processing Society. It is a trade group that serves the grain industry by providing training, knowledge sharing, and fellowship among those who are involved in handling and processing grain, suppliers of equipment used in the grain industry, service providers to the industry (like Faithful+Gould), and associated academic and governmental agencies. Attendance at the conference is usually about 3,000 people.
The GEAPS conference will be held in Austin, Texas and run from Saturday, February 27, 2016 through Tuesday, March 1, 2016. In addition to the educational sessions and keynote speeches, there will be an Expo trade show, where Faithful+Gould will be exhibiting from Booth #412.
