The latest £30m development at the Westbourne Campus in Edgbaston has seen the Birmingham-based project and cost management consultants provide quantity surveying services over two phases, enhancing the University’s existing facilities for nurse training and providing a new Centre for Defence Medicine.
The University’s Westbourne Campus accommodates the Faculty of Health and Community Care, and Faithful+Gould’s remit for its redevelopment has included the provision of cost consultancy services from feasibility stage right through to project completion.
Faithful+Gould’s team worked closely alongside UCE's planning and estates departments to ensure this complex project was completed on time and to budget.
Mark Brain, associate director at Faithful+Gould's Birmingham office, believes that the close collaboration with UCE enabled the project to become a success from day one. "The re-development of the entire campus was a big challenge for our team. We are delighted with the final result, the quality of the buildings and the improved facilities. We feel that we have played an instrumental role in this two-phase project and have gained experience which will be highly beneficial to the delivery of future projects for our clients."
