Faithful+Gould, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, secures a two-year extension with Singapore GP Pte Ltd (SGP) to continue to project manage the FORMULA 1® SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX, following the successful delivery of the 2019 event.

Faithful+Gould has been working with SGP since its inaugural race in 2008 and is responsible for overseeing the seamless planning, construction and removal of the 5.065 km street racing circuit and supporting facilities such as power, fencing and corporate facilities.

Tom Hasker, Managing Director for Asia Pacific at Faithful+Gould, said: “It’s a real privilege to be involved in the iconic project that has become a highlight in Singapore’s calendar and showcases Singapore to the world. We are delighted to continue to support our long-term client SGP in delivering this challenging world-class project. Being awarded the contract extension is a testimony to the consistently high-standard service from our dedicated team for over a decade.”

Rene Hillig, Director for Southeast Asia at Faithful+Gould, said: “The project is also of strategic importance to our business, attracting top talent from around the world to join our growing Singapore team. We look forward to working with our client to deliver more success in the years to come.”

Held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, it is the only night-time street race in the Formula 1® calendar, attracting an average of over 254,000 spectators annually since its debut in 2008. Although construction begins four months before the race takes place, this is a year-round project that requires meticulous planning, careful scheduling and extensive communication and collaboration with race promoter SGP and multiple stakeholders, to ensure timely delivery.

With the prestigious FORMULA 1® SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX project, Faithful+Gould was crowned winner in the Engineering & Construction Category of the Project Management Institute Singapore Chapter (SPMI)’s 4th Project of the Year 2017-18 awards. The SPMI Project of the Year Awards honour outstanding completed projects from Singapore.
