The client team, which consisted of MWH, Morrison Utility Services, Seymour Civil Engineering, Grontmij and Faithful+Gould, scooped the award for achieving and exceeding the ten-year targets on the AOW programme.
The programme, which started in 2004 and Faithful+Gould provided ECC project management, cost management and planning services for, triumphed at the GEM Awards for reducing the customer contacts to discoloured water from 14000 to 4000, cleaning and refurbishing 328km of large diameter trunk mains and flushing 4000km of distribution network pipelines.

The cleaned network is now operating at optimal performance with significantly reduced risk and improvements in the asset condition operability and security of supply will leave a lasting legacy for the future.

The annual awards, hosted by Northumbrian Water, are awarded to projects and programmes that go the extra mile to help the water company achieve its goal to be the national leader in sustainable water and waste water services.

In addition to the collective Programme of the Year win, Faithful+Gould was highly commended in the categories of ‘Team of the Year’ and ‘Customer Focus’.
