The project will now go through to the second round of judging, which will narrow down the highest-quality GCC projects. An overall GCC winner for each category will be announced at the MEED Quality Awards for Projects awards ceremony on 3 May 2017 at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, UAE.
The MEED Quality Awards for Projects have become the leading stamp of quality and achievement for anyone operating in the GCC projects sector. The awards not only recognise the construction element of project delivery, but also consider the value and quality of a project throughout its entire life cycle, from the design concept through to engineering and construction and its wider contribution to society and to the environment.
Faithful+Gould provided project, programme and construction management, and contract administration services to enable the client and Four Seasons Abu Dhabi to reach project viability, achieve best value and open to the public on the date anticipated.
The commitment to health and safety was demonstrated by all stakeholders and the project achieved the rare safety milestone of 21 million safe man hours. Sustainability was considered not only in terms of the resources used but also in terms of the design, community engagement and forward thinking measures put in place for continual improvement.
A partnership approach from the outset lead to collaboration and solutions-based thinking amongst the project team, ensuring the client’s vision for the hotel was realised. The end product is one that all parties are satisfied with – a sophisticated, high tech and environmentally enhanced 34 storey glass tower with 200 light filled rooms, 38 suites, six creative restaurants, two ballrooms and radiant spa facilities, which, when combined with an impeccable, tailored guest experience, makes Four Seasons one of Abu Dhabi’s most desirable address for meetings, social events and weddings.
