The National Water Company in Saudi Arabia has appointed Faithful+Gould to provide project management services.

National Water Company

The National Water Company (NWC) in Saudi Arabia was especially incorporated in July 2008 to take over responsibility for the management of government water projects and to manage the delivery of water to the public.

The NWC appointed Faithful+Gould Saudi Arabia Co Ltd to organise and structure its in-house project management unit. Our role will be:

  • to prepare and implement the recovery plans for existing projects
  • the delivery of the project management governance systems for NWC's corpororate headquarters as well as the business units of Riyadh and Jeddah
  • to provide the project and commercial management framework that will facilitate timely completion of current and future projects, appropriate utilisation of financial resources and deliver desired business benefits to NWC.
  • to train NWC's staff who will join the project management unit

The scope of services will include capacity building and knowledge transfer as well as functional management responsibilities within the business units.

Luay Bin Ahmed Al Musalam, resident director of the NWC says Faithful+Gould "will add real value to our projects, and enhance our long term returns on investment. We can rely on them for value enhancing solutions, leading thinking, systems and standards".

With a contract value of 35 million riyals and the initial appointment of 17 staff to the project, this is a significant appointment for the Middle East and India region.

The effort was spearheaded by Faithful+Gould's Riyadh team, led by Mike Ninos, with support from Regional Associate Director Paul Woutersen and additional input from Faithful+Gould's UK business.
