RICS Qatar Appoints Matthew de Pear Brown Board Member

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has appointed 10 new board members in Qatar with Associate Director at Faithful+Gould Qatar Matthew De Pear Brown amongst them.

All board members were appointed following a recruitment and selection process advertised on rics.org, and communicated to members through the monthly regional email updates.

Matthew De Pear Brown, alongside Faithful+Gould have both continuously supported RICS over the past five years in their efforts to implement best practices within the industry and this appointment is well-deserved recognition.

He was heavily involved in the first Continuing Professional Development event in Doha, organised by Faithful+Gould in 2012, and has continued to support the institution since assisting in organising numerous further CPD events in Qatar with audiences of 150-200. He has also been a RICS assessor for the last four years, building a strong relationship with the RICS regional management team.

As an organisation, Faithful+Gould has championed RICS both internally and amongst the wider community of construction professionals in Qatar.

As a board member, Matt will continue to be involved with supporting RICS CPD and networking events within Qatar and work with the other board members to improve both the standards and professional lives of chartered surveyors within the country through the various government ministries.

Commenting on his appointment Matt said: "To be recognised by my peers for our commitment to RICS is an absolute honour and a credit to the work and time put in to date with CPD events, the RICS management team and with individuals looking to sit their APC. I am looking forward to making a difference within Qatar both for Faithful+Gould staff and RICS members."

RICS is working closely with the new board members to help embed International Standards and best practices associated with the built environment, which will drive efficiency and transparency in the market, and ultimately encourage growth and foreign investment in Qatar delivered through a wide range of services under an independent public interest mandate.
