Provision of planning services and materials management for turnarounds at the BP chemical works at Saltend. We were also responsible for helping to manage and audit the commercial aspects on site for maintenance, projects and turnarounds. We reviewed and advised BP on the existing contractor management procedures for maintenance, project and turnaround activities. We built on our strong relationship with BP and its contractors to form an integral part of the site's contract assurance team to establish a more transparent and auditable cost management process. As a result of identifying the requirement for a more organised planning and cost system, we implemented our Planning Information Control System (PICS) on site. Together with the experienced planners, the system helps to deliver accountable cost and time efficiencies on all workscopes. The use of our PICS proved very cost effective and generated numerous savings for the site.
