The Dow Center is a new research and technology center for the Dow Chemical Company at the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park in Shanghai, China. This high profile development of over 120,000m² includes: A state-of-the-art research and development facility, a global information technology centre, laboratories, with space for 1,800 engineers and scientists working in more than 80 labs, a customer innovation centre, where concepts are converted into prototypes to give customers a first-hand opportunity to see how products will taste or feel, and a regional headquarter office for Dow's Greater China region.
Energy efficient and environmentally responsible materials and mechanical systems were used throughout. Rainwater is reused for irrigation and toilet flushing, and low flow water fixtures were installed to reduce water use.
