Genentech's commercial scale biotechnology manufacturing facility is Singapore’s first microbial-based facility for biotherapeutics. The plant is built on a 12 hectare greenfield site at Tuas Biomedical Park. The facility contains production and cleaning utilities, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, administration, facility utilities, warehouse and external infrastructure includes substation, waste inactivation, industrial gases, portable water storage and firewater system.
Faithful+Gould was appointed as quantity surveyor for the project. Our scope of works covered a range of services including estimates, tender analysis, cost reporting and variation.

A particular feature of the project is the process equipment, which was fabricated in twenty-four modules, constructed in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, shipped to Singapore in two batches through the Suez canal, and installed on site within one month. The project was completed in Q4 2008.
