Refurbishment of grade II listed façade: As part of a framework agreement Faithful+Gould provided building surveying services to the Imperial War Museum in London. An iconic building, the Imperial War Museum is grade II listed and dates back to the 19th century. Faithful+Gould assessed the property's structural issues and worked with conservation planning officers to provide specialist conservation advice. We worked closely with the listed buildings officer to agree on acceptable construction methods and materials to maintain the integrity of the historic building.
The project included: Design and specification of the north block, building maintenance, project management of the renovation. The project also included modernisation of IWM's roof drainage system, which had previously flooded regularly. Under the framework agreement Faithful+Gould has also received commissions to work on the Cabinet War Rooms and HMS Belfast.
