Faithful+Gould's Leeds office have committed to helping two local charities, St Gemma's Hospice and Martin House. St Gemma’s Hospice is based in Leeds and cares for terminally ill and cancer patients and Martin House, based in Boston Spa, is a purpose built hospice for children, young people and their families.
A number of fundraising initiatives have been undertaken with a 'director's carwash' raising the most money. The directors in the office swapped their suits and pens for T-shirts and sponges and cleaned an impressive 40 cars in three hours.
Other activities have involved cake sales and raffles and the team have already reached their monetary targets. However, it it isn’t all about fundraising – our staff have been volunteering their gardening expertise to the Martin House grounds.
Sue Rugg, associate director, commented, "I was one of the volunteers and it is nice to be involved in projects like this; it feels good to give back to the charities in our local area, whether it be by putting on some wellington boots and planting vegetables or by filling envelopes with marketing material."
