Faithful+Gould has sucessfully managed numerous transportation and urban renewal projects and as a result of this expertise, we were selected to provide NEC3 project management and cost management services for the MetroBus, Bristol City Centre Project.
The Bristol City Centre Project is the strategic hub for the MetroBus programme's bus services. The project provided a bold reshaping of traffic layouts, public spaces and sustainable transport infrastructure in the heart of one of Britain's busiest cities.
Faithful+Gould's team maintained access to critical public transport links located within the site and minimised disruption to the road network throughout construction. The site is located over what was Bristol's historic harbour which followed the course of the River Frome. A new bridge was constructed to span the harbour walls and river culvert preserved beneath street level. This was only achieved with an innovative piling system, penetrating to depths exceeding 20m.
The project generated extensive local and regional interest. It delivered a marked improvement in sustainble transport infrastructure and excellent new public spaces. Faithful+Gould provided a superb outcome for the client delivering high-quality project management and cost management services which complemented the success of the city centre renewal.
