Faithful+Gould was appointed by Wyeth Medica Ireland as project controls manager for a major expansion of its Kildare manufacturing division. The original budget for the project was €220m (the original budget was not prepared by Faithful+Gould). The budget was then revised to €300m.
The project involved:
- Construction of a 3 storey building for manufacturing, and an associated central utilities building
- Construction of an electricity substation and new main power feed
- Construction of a cold store, a major pipe bridge and utilities yard
- Major civil engineering works, including a new road system and car parks
Faithful+Gould provided the following services: Procurement consultancy for the main construction contract; quantity surveying services; preparing contracts and cost analysis of subcontracts; preparing and monitoring construction schedules; compiling project cost reports for the project including construction, automation, design, construction management, equipment, pre-operating, validation and project indirects; full cost engineering services, agreement of final accounts and post construction cost control services; consultancy in value engineering.
